apollo likes to poop hard drives

[mernisse@apollo: ~ (8333)]$cat /etc/motd
I apologize for apollo’s instability of late. The QLogic fibre channel
controller or the disks attached to it was acting up causing the system to
lock up occasionally. I have replaced the disks for the time being and moved
the file systems over. This should improve stability (I hope).

apollo is the server this website ( along with a bunch of other things ) runs on.

edit:

FWIW, removing the 2 dying Fibre channel drives have reduced the power consumption of the server by a bunch ( the drop at Wed night / Thu morning )
